I had tried anything and everything after hitting a wall with my health, energy and weight loss efforts and had truly plateaued! Out of frustration, I turned to something so radically different than my normal thinking and read this book from start to finish on a short plane ride and started the next day! I had nothing to lose! I was so fearful of changing my mindset from low fat to high fat and lower carb, but THIS worked for me! For the first time in MONTHS not only did the scale change, but my Narcolepsy symptoms subsided and I had more energy than I knew what to do with! I see people ranking this as lower because it is "short" and not packed full of background info, but to me, that is BRILLIANT...had it been 500 pages, I wouldn't have bothered picking it up. It was concise and armed me with enough foundational info to TRY it with her amazing sample meal plan and just SEE if it worked...instead of reading a huge book, overthinking it and ultimately taking weeks to "get started" like I have with so much in the past. This book is a PERFECT starting point for someone looking into the low carb HIGH fat lifestyle, so they can get started right away and be armed with enough info to trust the process and then build on the info learned here. Kind of an "earn as you learn" kind of thing in my opinion :) Had it not been for this book, I wouldn't have realized how much my body NEEDED to be in a higher fat, lower carb state and I would still be STUCK with my weight loss efforts! Very much enjoyed this book and Melissa's insight on the IF and HFLC lifestyle. I truly feel this lifestyle has saved my life from diabetes and helping reduced my chronic migraines.

One of the things I liked most about this book is that it gets right to business. The author gave the desired information in a clear concise way. This book isn't full of useless info that's only purpose is to fill pages. Believe me when I say that I have bought and attempted to read other diet, lifestyle, and healthy living books. Most are chalked full of jargon, off topic subjects and chapter after chapter of mind numbing points of you . It can be overwhelming and insanely confusing. Especially when you are diving into unchartered territory. This book gives you what you need to get started asap. That's what we want right??? Cannot wait to put my newfound knowledge to use.
